BOREHOLE DRILLING SPECIALIST AND AQUA LOCATING

SERVICES

WATER SURVEYING

Water Surveying refers to the process of selecting a site at which to drill the borehole.

AQUA LOCATING SERVICES

Aqua Locating Services makes use of different divining methods, including the use of an imported water detection device designed by a German Engineering Company.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS

Because drilling can be an expensive exercise, it's important that do your homework before you get a drill rig on site.

The very first thing that needs to be determined is where the water is, and how we’re going to get to it.

Once the borehole has been drilled the necessary unstable lengths of the borehole are steel cased in an effort to reinforce the ‘tube’.

In order to most accurately gauge the yield of a domestic water borehole an aquifer test is performed. This involves installing a test pump and pumping borehole water for a fixed set of variables; a given time at a given rate, and then assessing the test’s impact on the water level in the borehole. Maximum yield is achieved by increasing the abstraction rate, ensuring optimum drawdown of water in the borehole.

The kind of pumping system and piping installed in your new domestic water borehole will largely depend on the intended use of the borehole water

THE COST OF DRILLING A BOREHOLE

Water borehole drilling cost depends on many different factors, processes, and components used to drill a borehole.
  • Type of Ground
  • Depth of the borehole
  • The purpose for the borehole
  • The machinery, manpower, and material needed.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

We've answered a few questions that you may have.

The amazing benefits of having a borehole
  • Borehole Water is rich in minerals. One of the great things about getting water from the ground is that you get water that is full of minerals. ...
  • Underground water is chemical free. ...
  • Increases property value. ...
  • Decrease the demand on the municipal water supply. ...
  • It will give you the garden you desire.

A borehole installation can cost anything from R25 000 to R100 000, but can cost more depending on how deep you need to drill, the amount of casing used, type of rock that needs to be drilled, ground conditions, equipment and other purpose-for-use related costs.

Borehole water is rich in naturally occurring minerals and hasn't been treated or altered with any man-made chemical additives. When you're drinking water from the municipal supply, the water has inevitably been treated and chlorinated in an effort to render the water “safe for human consumption”
This depends on how large the reservoir is, but a borehole is an asset that should last 50-100 years plus, with very low maintenance costs in the first 10-15 years. But for this to happen, you need to make the right decisions at the start of the process and invest wisely for long-term returns.
Each borehole will have its own characteristics. Boreholes that are only meters apart can have completely different water levels and delivery capabilities. But, if you and your neighbour are pumping from the same aquifer, over-pumping your hole could cause their hole to dry up
You need to notify the municipality of the fact that you draw water from your borehole. Check with your municipality to be safe: some do have a charge and some don't.
Borehole Water comes from rain and rivers leaks through layers of rock from underground areas. Water layers of rock or clay separate and restrict underground water bodies at different depths, in different areas. These areas are called aquifers
